Nephrology and Hypertension Specialist at North Ohio Heart

September 30, 2010

Wouldn’t it make you feel more comfortable to have a globally-recognized expert involved in your personal health care?  Well, that’s exactly what you get at North Ohio Heart. In this case, we’re talking about Dr. Arash Rashidi, who you can basically say “wrote the book” on Hypertension.  Really!  He co-authored the hypertension chapter of the last edition of the world renowned cardiology textbook, "The Heart."

dr. rashidi at NOHHis expertise is also recognized by the Editorial Board of the Southern Medical Journal, of which he is a member, as well as the International Journal of Osteoporosis and Metabolic Disorders. In addition (as if that’s not enough), he’s a peer reviewer for medical journals like Kidney International, British medical Council Cardiovascular Disorder Journal, British Medical Council Public Heath Journal, Journal of Medical Sciences and International Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism.

If his medical peers recognize his extensive experience, so can you. His specialties in Nephrology and Hypertension might seem unrelated at first, but actually hypertension (also known as high blood pressure) is one of the leading causes of kidney failure – and nephrology is the study of the kidneys. Dr. Rashidi has clinical research interests in hypertension, chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular risk factors and hemodialysis vascular access (translation: the place on your body where blood is removed and returned during dialysis – which cleanses the blood when your kidneys can’t). He has numerous publications and presentations in national and international meetings and has received multiple awards for his research and presentations.

Dr. Rashidi keeps office hours at both the Middleburg Heights and Westlake offices of NOH, where his expertise is available to help treat you, as part of a team of experts who ensure that you receive the best possible care.
